Three From Men's Lacrosse Selected to 2025 All-Conference Teams
Ryan Thomas (1st Team), James Napoli (2nd Team), and Connor Cullen (2nd Team) all honored for excellent seasons.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In honor of exemplary efforts on the field during the 2025 campaign, a trio of juniors from the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team have earned CACC All-Conference honors as announced by the league on Wednesday.
Ryan Thomas was tabbed to the All-Conference First Team while Connor Cullen and James Napoli each received second-team accolades.
Thomas, who was also a second-team selection as a sophomore, once again served as UB's defensive rock this season. The Long Island native led the team in caused turnovers for a second consecutive year as he piled up 40 of them across 15 games played. Thomas finished second in the CACC in that department at 2.67 CTs per contest. He also ranked second on UB in ground balls with 54 in addition to adding a goal and an assist on the offensive side of the ball. Thomas piled up multiple caused turnovers in 11 of UB's 15 games.
Thomas was named the CACC's Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions this season while also being tabbed to the USILA's DII Team of the Week on March 20.
With Thomas guiding UB's defense, it was Napoli piloting the attack to earn his second straight second-team designation. The Long Islander led the Purple Knights in all three offensive categories, finishing the year with 25 goals, 18 assists and 43 points. He also supplied 24 ground balls. Napoli did most of his damage down the stretch for Bridgeport, tallying 17 of his goals over the last four games of the regular season. He was especially dominant in wins over STAC and Caldwell where he totaled a season-best 10 points in each game.
Napoli was named to the USILA's DII Team of the Week on April 24 after his 10-point performance versus Caldwell.
Cullen joins Thomas and Napoli with second consecutive All-Conference honors as he was voted to the first team in 2024. He was once again outstanding as a face-off specialist for UB this season. The Long Island native won 133 of his 213 matchups for a win percentage of 62.4 (3rd in the CACC). He also led the Purple Knight in total ground balls (77) for a second straight year while his 5.92 GBs per game ended up third in the CACC as well.
Cullen capped off his season with a goal in UB's CACC playoff game against Post. He also went a season-best 20-for-22 in face-offs with a season-high 16 ground balls in a pivotal win over Holy Family on April 22.
