Men's Lacrosse Storms Past Felician, 22-4
Purple Knights, now 4-4 overall (2-2 CACC), scored the game's first 16 goals.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Fueled by 10 different point-scorers and a dominant 16-0 first half, the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team cruised to a 22-4 win over Felician on Saturday night at Knights Field. The decisive conference victory lifts UB's record to 4-4 overall this season and 2-2 inside the CACC.
The Purple Knights set the tone immediately, exploding for eight goals in the opening quarter and following with another eight in the second to take a commanding 16-0 lead into halftime.
UB scored the game's first 16 goals and held Felician scoreless for the first 30 minutes, completely controlling possession throughout the opening half.
Offensively, Bridgeport once again showcased a balanced attack led by James Napoli and Stephen Trama.
Napoli finished with five goals and four assists for a game-high nine points, while Trama matched him with five goals and added three assists.
Darien Fray also had a big night with four goals and an assist, while Luciano Canino contributed three goals and three assists. Ashton Lankowski (2 goals, 1 assist) and Noah Beard (2 goals) rounded out a scoring effort that saw seven different players find the back of the net.
The Purple Knights dominated in all phases, outshooting Felician 50-9 and holding a decisive 45-9 advantage in ground balls.
At the faceoff X, Connor Cullen was once again exceptional, helping UB win 25-of-29 faceoffs.
Cullen continues to lead the CACC by a wide margin in face-off percentage (.774) this season. He also ranks second in the league in ground balls per game (6.25).
