Volleyball Sweeps Caldwell to Earn Mullin's 200th Career Win
Purple Knights improve their record to 3-2 in the CACC this season.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Coming off a five-set win over the weekend, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team continued the momentum on Tuesday with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-15) triumph over Caldwell inside Hubbell Gym. The decisive victory pushes the Purple Knights' record to 3-2 in the CACC this season.
It was a milestone evening for Bridgeport's head coach Gary Mullin as he picked up his 200th career win. The Purple Knight leader now holds a 200-121 record during his 12-year tenure at UB.
Mullin ranks No. 1 amongst CACC coaches in career winning percentage (.623) while also sitting with the second-most victories of any coach in the conference.
Freshman Cecilia Kowalski led the way against Caldwell with a match-high 10 kills on a season-best .533 hitting percentage. She also added two blocks.
Fellow freshman Madison Mohan added seven kills and three aces while junior Hailey Jessen also tallied seven kills to go along with two aces and two digs.
Rookie setter Camdyn Cieszkiewicz dished out a team-best 16 assists in addition to hammering a season-high five aces.
Freshman Layla Wood also provided a spark with six kills on an .857 hitting percentage while libero Elaine DeLallo picked up a team-best 12 digs.
As a team, Bridgeport posted a season-best .345 hitting percentage. UB also rattled off 13 aces which marks their second highest total of the year.
