Volleyball Sweeps Chestnut Hill for Fifth CACC Win
Purple Knights move to 5-2 in the conference this season.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Continuing a stretch of five consecutive conference matches, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team notched a 3-0 win (25-15, 25-19, 25-22) over Chestnut Hill College on Saturday inside Hubbell Gym. The Purple Knights, who have now won four of their last five matches, move their record to 5-2 in the CACC this season.
Bridgeport's second sweep of the year was sparked by their third highest hitting percentage (.315) and five different players recording at least five kills.
It was trio of freshmen that piloted the UB offense in the form of Layla Wood and Madison Mohan each registering a team-best 10 kills and Camdyn Cieszkiewicz dishing out 32 assists.
Wood made just one error (.500 hitting percentage) while Mohan also added six digs in the match. Cieszkiewicz, meanwhile, has now reached at least 30 assists in five of UB's last seven matches.
Junior Hailey Jessen was also stellar for the Purple Knights in the win. The Colorado native added nine kills, nine digs, and a service ace in another well-rounded effort.
Jessen currently ranks third in the CACC in kills per set (3.39) this season.
More statistical leaders for UB included Lucia Tomiello hitting a team-high .750 with six kills while Elaine DeLallo picked up a team-best 14 digs.
