BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their final non-conference match of the regular season, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team was swept by Bentley University on Thursday by a score of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-21.
The Purple Knights were led offensively by Hailey Jessen, who tallied team-highs in both kills (6) and digs (9), while Lucia Tomiello added four kills and a service ace.
Freshman setter Camdyn Cieszkiewicz continued to direct UB's offense with 19 assists to go along with six digs.
After dropping the first two sets, UB put together its best stretch of the match in the third, rallying from a 14-8 deficit to pull within a point at 21-20 before Bentley closed out the frame.
Freshmen Madison Mohan and Cecilia Kowalski rounded out UB's offensive leaders with four kills apiece while junior Elaine DeLallo matched Jessen with a team-best nine digs.
